The hotel is centrally located, not far from the main Train station. Hotel is part of a large commercial building that houses more than a single hotel. The room had no window and the walls were painted dark color, which was a major turn off. There are definitely other, better, not much more expensive hotels in the same general area that have a window in the room.

This was a very nice place to stay. Excellent staff who are very friendly and helpful. Good central location. We landed at 4:30 am and took a car arranged by the hotel. Since we arrived so early we were able to hang out in the very nice lobby. There are comfortable seats, games, food, and drinks. It made the wait manageable. As soon as the room was ready they let us check in early. The room itself was nice and simple. Nothing extravagant, but suited our needs well. Good shower with high water pressure. The complementary food and drinks came in handy multiple times, as we were adjusting to the time zone. Laundry facilities were also very nice to have, 30 ntd for wash, 50 ntd for dry. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel but it seemed like a nice buffet spread. Overall, nice, clean, good location with wonderful staff. Would stay again.

The best place to stay in Taipei! Affordable, clean and safe. About 3 mins walks from the train station and 10 mins walk Ximending ! Had the best time here! Staff are friendly and the breakfast they serve is delicious ! Go book this for your planned trips!

Budget hotel tucked in an old street a short walk from major city attractions

A 2-3 star budget hotel in an old building, in a busy street, tucked away in a street behind Taiwan’s main attractions & busy Ximendeng area. Pros: 1. Good location, 12 min walk to Ximendeng, without the crowds; 10 min walk to NTU hospital station, from which you can take MRT to Taipei main stn; 20 min walk to Chiang Kai Shek Memorial, Palace, 10 min walk to Taiwan Museum & Peace Park. 2. They offer Unlimitted cup noodles, cookies, soda, water at the check-in lounge area, where guests can sit, eat, and kids play in the basement. 4. Corner room had large bathroom with huge tub. Large room windows, but couldn’t be openned. The space was for family or group of 3, with a queen bed and a single. 5. Although bathroom was clean, make up room service is done only once in 4 days stay & you need to segregate & bring your trash out daily. 6. Receptionists spoke decent English & helpful in pointing out places to eat nearby. Cons 1. For $200 a night for a triple room, I expected more. It’s a 2.5-3 star, budget hotel, without breakfast. It’s in an old bldg, with no actual hotel lobby, instead a check in area at their lounge in the basement. Although fixed up with an “Alice in Wonderland” type theme, it was quite dark. 2. Service was bare minimum - no one to help w/ bags, no room service, couldn’t even ask for an extra pillow. 3. Lucky to have been given a corner room w/ windows, as many rooms face inward without a view. View was of other old bldgs beside hotel. 4. Bathroom is enclosed in glass, with curtains, so if travelling w/ friends, it offers little privacy for bodily functions. 5. No closets. Only a space above miniref to hang some clothes, so suitcases serve as clothes storage. 6. Exhaust in toilet was weak, and windows couldn’t be openned to let out smells. 7. Water temperature in shower was difficult to adjust-from really hot or cold, with nothing in between. 8. AC was not cool enough, and looked like it needed cleaning, as there was dark stains around vents. 9. Sink in toilet was tiny, so everything got wet each time you brushed your teeth or washed face 10. Queen bed was quite hard, while single was too soft. If you just need a place to sleep, it serves that purpose well. Young Kids may be entertained by the basement lounge, and fairy tale theme. It’s not a place to hang out or relax.

This place is awesome!!! The decor cannot be matched - the detail that went into the floor design and common areas is truly special. I've never stayed anywhere so unique. The common area was wonderful - free snacks and soda, lots of couches to relax on, games to play, ect. It felt really nice to just sit down and relax after a full day of traveling or touring. The front desk was friendly and helpful, check in was smooth, and there is plenty of room to store your luggage. The rooms (we stayed in several as we did overnights elsewhere) in between our stays were nicely sized and comfortable. The location was great with the subway and train station easily accessible. I loved staying here and would absolutely come again!
